@ Knockdown Center (Maspeth) Underworld Underworld headlines Knockdown Center on 9/3 & 9/4. Underworld are Rick Smith and Karl Hyde. Over 30 years since their peerless first album, dubnobasswithmyheadman, and their generation-defining euphoric hit, ‘Born Slippy (Nuxx)’, they are going from strength to strength. To celebrate Labor Day weekend, Underworld presents Crazy, Crazy Off the back of a sold-out 2025 US Tour, this is their only 2026 headline show in the US. 2026 marks a modern renaissance for the group, which already has over 40 years of experience. A viral Boiler Room debut saw over one million views in the first five days, and upon the recent re-reissue of their first seven studio albums, all seven went straight to the top of the album charts - a feat never before achieved by a single artist. With countless festival headlining slots, and continuous collaborations with seminal talents such as Brutalisimus3000, KETTAMA, and KI/KI. Underworld’s consistent artistry and visceral live shows cement their place in both electronic music’s history and its future.

@ Basement QUELZA, TAKAAKI ITOH Two generations of techno collide: Quelza and Takaaki Itoh each play an extended set in BASEMENT. Each artist presents a highly personal vision of the genre, honed and developed to a fine point. Quelza represents the current generation. Since his debut release in 2020, he has steadily evolved into one of the most respected techno auteurs working today. Early releases on labels like Hayes and Mord, showed him harnessing the surging intensity that has become the standard. But Quelza has always exemplified dynamic contrast, and from the start his productions stood apart. This year’s “Above The Clouds I Finally Found Peace” on Ostgut Ton is a full-body immersion in twisting soundscapes and supple power. Takaaki Itoh is one of the grandmasters of Japanese techno and a beloved figurehead for anyone interested in the near-infinite psychedelic potentialities of the loop. From his 1998 debut onwards, Itoh has devoted himself with singular focus to tunneling, hypnotic minimalism and thundering, elemental sonics. There’s an elusive quality that is his signature. From one angle, his productions can seem granite-thick. From another, they are ephemeral, elusive constructions that twist like incense smoke dangling in the air. The full effect comes through immersion; Itoh draws you in slowly, capturing the dancefloor through masterful gradations in tension and intensity. Once you realize what’s happening, it’s already too late.
ketia returns to STUDIO. The Kit Ket founder has become a figurehead in the modern queer underground, tapping into a pumping, high energy rave sound that allows plenty of room for cheeky vocal flips, crossover remixes and club edits. There’s an infectious freedom to a ketia set that cannot be denied. Tommy Hart has become a regular in the room. An ambassador to the timeless legacy of house music, Drawing from some of the most dancefloor-ready sounds of all time, Hart marries the unabashed extroversion of the ‘90s with the liquid grooves of the ‘00s, tying it all together with his own clear eyed, generous sensibility. Sevyn encapsulates everything good about deliciously swung, jazzy NY house. From the earliest days of Strictly Rhythm, Nervous and Shelter through to the present day, there’s a timeless feel that a select group of DJs can bring to life. Sevyn stands proudly within that lineage.

@ Knockdown Center (Maspeth) Hot Since 82 Danny Tenaglia Juliet Mendoza Kilopatrah Jones Hot Since 82 is back for a full venue, Knee Deep in Queens takeover on Sept 5. These have been a staple of the summer calendar since 2022, when he became the first artist to present an indoor-outdoor, day-into-night event at Knockdown Center. Five editions later and these remain some of our favorite parties of the season. This year, house legend Danny Tenaglia joins. One of the all-time greats, Tenaglia was a pioneer who helped the genre evolve from its niche, underground sound into a global behemoth. His discography includes some of the best remixes of all time, including collaborations with Madonna, Jamiroquai and many others. LA's Juliet Mendoza, founder of Jackin Jills, and NY powerhouse Kilopatrah Jones join, each bringing a distinctive take on timeless, soulful house.

@ Basement STEF MENDESIDIS live, SERA J, LYDO Stef Mendesidis is one of the best live acts in techno. Few approach the form with the combination of rigor and raw intensity that he does. Mendesidis has, over the last decade plus, developed an exceptional command of hardware synths and sequencers, bringing to life a fully-realized sonic world that is all his own. Beyond the impressive feat of exclusively performing live, Mendesidis’ tracks are, top to bottom, brazen and thrilling showstoppers. From the rough edged perfection of his early Klockworks EPs through to last year’s label-launching EP on his own Exaiter, Mendesidis never misses. On “Exaiter 01” he even has a track titled, simply, “Techno.” What can we say? He’s earned it. Sera J steps back in the booth. A Mutual Rytm affiliate, Sera J’s productions throb with heart pounding urgency. In his solo tracks and many collaborations with ANNĒ, the Greek artist hits with surgical accuracy and a barely-contained wildness. BASEMENT resident LYDO finds the throughline between expansive, meditative lushness and pulsating, seismic techno. An artist of remarkable range and unalloyed vision, LYDO’s clarity of vision and carefully-attuned ear have made them a standard bearing in NY and beyond.
The Carry Nation once described their approach as “truly reliant on the dancer. Without them one is only an organizer of sounds, which is something very different.” For anyone who has witnessed them in the field, this would be an understatement. Their sets seem to alchemically bond the dancefloor and the DJ into one unified organism. Over the last few years, they’ve rightly been recognized as one of the best duos in house music today. They’ve played STUDIO many times, and each time they bring the room to the heights of ecstasy. We welcome them back. AIDA steps into the room for the first time. Fusing her Iranian heritage and Canadian roots, AIDA reflects an musical upbringing defined by forest raves, renegade parties and DIY activism in her hometown of Vancouver. She carries that energy forward, both in her own sets and as the founder of Apranik Records, which draws heavily from the Iranian Woman Life Freedom movement. AIDA balances these hard-earned political convictions with the life-affirming necessity of a good night out. In her own words, her sets always balance “escapism and release.” SENERGI also makes his debut. The Barcelona-born, Berlin-based DJ is the founder of queer party Fairies, the “rave fantasy" that focuses on Hi NRG and similarly unabashed dancefloor modalities. In his own words, his sets are “hot and iconic,” unified in libidinous thrust and saturated colors.

@ Knockdown Center (Maspeth) Channel Tres Eliza Rose Channel Tres headlines Knockdown Center alongside Eliza Rose on Sept 10. The rules don’t apply to Channel Tres. He crosses dimensions not only as an artist, but also as a man. He’s the rare creative who is just as comfortable DJ-ing under the neon lights of an after-hours club as he is throwing down on a track next to our generation’s finest wordsmiths or getting bodies to move from the main stage of your favorite festival. The Compton native isn’t shy about painting his nails and tending to his dogs, yet he casts a shadowy presence that you’ll never quite put your finger on. You’ll get a glimpse of who he is in his lyrics though he never gives it all away. That’s why he’s quietly entrenched himself at the forefront of the culture as a conundrum. He introduced himself as a solo artist with the 2018 Channel Tres EP, boasting “Topdown” and “Controller.” 2020’s i can’t go outside EP sent him into overdrive accelerated by “fuego” [feat. Tyler, The Creator]. Beyond collaborations with KAYTRANADA, Kito, SG Lewis, and Charlotte Day Wilson, he joined forces with Jungle on “I’ve Been In Love,” gathering 135 million-plus Spotify streams. 2024 saw him deliver his debut, Head Rush. Billboard christened it “a sophisticated, swaggy amalgamation of hip-hop, R&B and electronic music that tracks his rise from his native Compton to big tours and big festival stages.” Between selling out headline shows, he shined at festivals a la Coachella, Bonnaroo, and HARD. Moving fluidly between electronic, R&B, hip-hop, and alternative, his second full-length LP, Enigma, equally embodies the nuances of his sonic preferences and his personality. In early 2025, he left his previous label, grabbed his MPC, rented an Airbnb in Topanga Canyon, and fashioned a foundation for Enigma. Shocking an incomparable vision to life, he collaborated with the likes of Nick Solomon, Jesse Saint John, Pharrell, Robyn, Polo & Pan, and Kungs. Across the record, he perfects his signature “Compton House” sound and stands out as the truest kind of enigma.

@ Basement BASHKKA, PARAMIDA, FUNDIDO Ogazón makes her debut. The Robert Johnson resident brings a classic, vinyl-heavy true school approach to her sets, building the energy with restrained pacing and an ear but simple-but-deadly gestures. An abundant musicality defines the core of her practice - you hear it in everything from the pared back simplicity of tracks like “Locked Groove” to her pristine, fluid mixing style. Argentine techno phenom Sol Ortega returns. A leading light of South America’s explosive techno underground, Ortega’s gritty, jacking sound balances a diverse palette - ranging from dubby spaciousness to slicing percussive mayhem - with exceptional clarity. Lauren Flax is a kindred spirit who captures the bold, future-facing essence of dance music with intuitive clarity. A key voice, Flax ties together the legacies of Detroit, Chicago and NY, of techno and house, and makes it all feel like one cohesive story.
BASHKKA headlines STUDIO. Her relationship to NY is a special one. The Turkish-German artist spent a significant chapter of her life immersed in the city’s ballroom scene. "My place of rebirth was New York," she once told RA, and you can hear the influence in her sets. BASHKKA blends a liberated sensuality with the raw power that defines ballroom. She now holds a residency at Munich’s Blitz club, one of the most lauded hubs in Europe today. PARAMIDA returns. The Love On The Rocks founder has blazed a glorious trail through modern dance music, harnessing the slinky pleasures of progressive and trance, neo-rave and much more. Her output is a love letter to a golden age, capturing the freedom and unabashed optimism that coursed through so much dance music at the dawn of the millennium. Fundido - the duo of Latane Hughes and Billy Scher - has been a pillar of the US italo-house-disco-baeleric-etc subculture for a decade and counting. Earlier this year, they released the “Get a Grip” EP, collaborating with singer Emma Dufaux. It’s a bopping, pumping slice of pure, nightcrawler bliss. They just followed it up with the hot-off-the-presses “Melt,” which counters the saucy, sassy energy of “Get a Grip” with an unadulterated italo tribute, tempered with a modern twist.

@ Basement BORIS, RYAN SMITH 1 TICKET PER PERSON ALLOWED
This September, Boris headlines Wrecked. Could there be a more perfect match? The longtime Berghain resident is a modern master whose decades of work as both a DJ and producer has boldly pushed the form forward. His contributions to the Ostgut Ton label are frequently spartan exercises in grayscale minimalism, with Boris sculpting a deeply evocative soundfield from a handful of select elements. But as a DJ, his range runs the gamut from full-bore techno to mercurial depth and hands-in-the-air uplift. It’s the result of a life spent attuned to the nuances and particularities of music rather than to spectacle and glitz. It’s no surprise that the same ethos can describe Wrecked, which since its inception has always pushed for a music-first approach. Resident and co-founder Ryan Smith joins Boris in BASEMENT, offering a complimentary approach that pulls from the deepest recesses of his crates.
Alinka headlines STUDIO. A resident at Kyiv’s ∄ and the co-founder of Twirl with Shaun J. Wright, Alinka is a longtime champion of queer dance music from across the spectrum. On last year’s “DGTL” EP, Alinka lays it all out with a batch of trance-y, pumping dancefloor bombs of the highest order. Her sets and sprawling discography are filled with unabashed love letters to the timeless joys of house and the riotous, raunchy sense of liberation that can be accessed only on the dancefloor. Mike Swells steps into the booth for the first time. A fixture of the US underground, Swells has been DJing for nearly thirty years, working tirelessly through generations of dance music. A community organizer par excellence, his contributions to Honcho, Refuge and other key hubs are invaluable. But anyone who knows his work knows the depth of his craft. Swells makes the masterful look simple, blending across genres, era and BPMs with pure musicality and an effortless, seamless flow. Wrecked’s own Ron Like Hell completes the picture. He is the living embodiment of the digger, an artist whose command of tripping, heady groove is unparalleled.

@ Basement MAMA SNAKE, ANABEL ARROYO, KATIE REX Mama Snake returns to BASEMENT. The Amniote Editions founder has been a major force in the modern techno-trance renaissance. From her emergence in the middle of the ‘10s through her label’s explosive run following its 2019 debut, Mama Snake has consistently pushed into the cutting edge. Euphoric synths drape over razor-sharp digital soundscapes, painting a view of the future as both mechanized and indelibly human. FOLD resident Anabel Arroyo makes her debut following a standout appearance at WIRE. Arroyo’s pulse-pounding, instinctive approach says more with less. With deadly selection and a few decisive movements, she takes control of the booth and doesn't yield until the very last moment. BOUND founder Katie Rex completes the lineup. One of the architects of NY nightlife, Rex has played an integral part in shaping the current techno landscape. It’s reflected in her sets, which bristle with thrilling tension and heavy, hard-edged groove.
Fafi Abdel Nour steps into STUDIO to deliver a dose of pure house bliss. The Amsterdam-based DJ came up in Groningen’s beloved queer underground, where he began organizing nights at OOST as a platform for the inclusive lineups he always hoped to see. While his artistry has steadily evolved, that same message of love and empowerment remains at the core of his creativity, animating his exceptional take on classic house. Gabrielle Kwarteng is back in the room. The NY-born, Berlin-based DJ is one of the true auteurs of our time. When Kwarteng is on, you’ll know. Although she draws from the timeless well of ‘90s house music, Kwarteng invariably puts her own spin on the material. Her signature is hard to pin down, but deeply felt. There’s just an essential cool to her sets that brings every record to life. Jek adds a dose of naughty nerve. The Earth Dog co-founder has been incubating a specific sound, both in his own music and in his curation: sleek but unruly, psychedelic but rooted, and 100% club-ready.

@ Basement RUINS, D.DAN, MOS, ELLE DEE This September, BASEMENT presents its second ever day-into-night full venue takeover, running from the afternoon straight through past sunrise. Starting outdoors in The Ruins before heading inside, this special marathon run brings together a mix of residents, collaborators and some of the best artists in electronic music today.
D.Dan headlines The Ruins. One of the most impactful and important DJ/producers of the current generation, D.Dan’s marriage of deep, hypnotic techno and tectonic low end ruptures is singular. Few artists make techno feel as cutting edge and modern as D.Dan; his sets are laser focused, futuristic and decoupled from any sense of the retro or nostalgic. As a resident of Mala Junta and in his growing solo discography, D.Dan is rewriting the rule book and charting a path forward for techno. Mos and Elle Dee represent NYC. Two BASEMENT stalwarts, each artist has carved their own special niche within the genre. Mos captures the elusive, icy power of techno. Homing in on cerebral minimalism, crafty loop techno and occasional breakthrough moments of emotional poignancy, Mos’ sets are fully-realized journeys. Mild Fantasy founder Elle Dee weaves deep, hypnotic electro, driving, groovy techno and twisted jack into a pumping, cohesive whole.
Resident Freddy K takes the helm in BASEMENT. One of Italy’s foremost masters of classic, psychedelic techno, Freddy K is a rare artist whose work shaped the genre in its primal phase and who continues to move in stride with the times. Since the ‘90s, he has been a force in his home country, but in recent years he’s undergone a creative renaissance. Freddy K harnesses a lifetime behind the decks, distilling techno to its essence. Ron Like Hell steps away from their usual spot at Wrecked, bringing one of their singular techno sets to BASEMENT. No one plays like Ron; twisting, tripping, throbbing. They are a font of creativity and one of the best examples of dyed-in-the wool, to-the-bone DJ that the world has ever seen. cotton returns to do what only she can. The Renegade boss embodies the paradox of the NY underground: her music is both exploratory and no-BS, experimental and utterly decisive. cotton takes dancers into the darkest waters with a mixture of raw urgency and a steady hand.
The spirit of disco seeps into STUDIO. Massimiliano Pagliara headlines. The STUDIO resident is a truly transcendent talent, harnessing the pure essence of foundation dance music forms and alchemizing them into something new. As he once said, “Music, more than anything else, can say things that words cannot say, so it is a very deep inner experience. In this sense, I am less interested in trying to create something new. I just want to be myself and create something that people can listen to and they can go like: oh yes, this sounds like Massi.” In this mission, we can say he is unequivocally successful. Pagliara has built up a body of work that is all his own which continues to offer a refreshing and unique take on classic themes. UK-born, LA-based Heidi Lawden is one of the great purveyors of thumping, languid house and chugging, cosmic disco. On her Dublab show Magic Roundabout, Lawden submerges the listener in deep, subtly-slowed grooves that tease out a psychedelic depth and a sweaty intensity. Kim Anh’s rapturously decadent productions capture the evocative sheen of the ‘80s at their peak. On tracks like “House of Virgo” and “Dream Lover,” Anh celebrates the lineages of queer dance with a sultry edge.

@ Basement JADALAREIGN, MIKE SERVITO, SAIA Mutual Rytm returns for a takeover, showcasing some of the most exciting and rigorous techno artists working today. Label boss SHDW returns. As the leading light behind the label, SHDW’s canny ear and exacting taste shines through in everything he does. His sets are true thrill rides - dynamic, visceral experiences that hook you in from the first track and do not let go. Phil Berg’s recent “Dārin” EP on the label is front-to-back excellent, with a mixture of cinematic scale and reverberant, factory-like percussive flourishes. Developed from the more open-ended material in his lauded live set, the EP has already become a staple in sets by SHDW and many others. Regent recently helped the label kick off its "Versus" series with an exemplary collection of top shelf floor fillers. Tracks like “Emphemera” show the producer working at the height of his powers, crafting a delicate mixture of heartfelt melodicism and tight, driving sound design. Finally, Hemke completes the lineup. A quintessential Mutual Rytm artist, Henke’s balance of shadowy menace and fully-absorbing propulsion, complete with a proper dose of her own vocals, matches the label’s ethos to a tee.
JADALAREIGN and Mike Servito return to STUDIO, representing complimentary masterclasses in true house music. “I think that the Black American underground serves as an inspiration for a lot of the music and nightlife culture that we see today,” JADALAREIGN said in an interview, “but isn't always platformed in a way that is deserved.” She is one of the voices who is actively setting the record straight, honoring generations of Black artistry from across the spectrum, including “house, techno, disco, acid, soul, jack.” But LAREIGN’s sets aren’t rooted in nostalgia. She brings a deep, powerful perspective to the fore, embracing the startling, evocative and surprising at every turn. Mike Servito is one of the great ambassadors to Detroit and the Midwest. Though he’s spent the last couple decades immersed in NYC, setting the standard for a couple generations of DJs who came up in his wake, the spirit of the Motor City remains embedded in his mixing. Across his tenure as a resident for The Bunker NY and as one of the most widely respected house DJs on the planet, Servito has made his name by keeping it unwaveringly real. Saia returns to the room. The Diva Diva founder, formerly known as Haiek, holds nothing back. Saia’s sets are explosive missives of pure adrenaline.

@ Basement MAC DECLOS, MARCAL, CORA Parisian phenom Mac Declos is back in BASEMENT to lay down his ultra-personal take on the genre. A key affiliate of the Mama Told Ya label, Declos’ unconstricted approach touches on edgy, granite-thick techno as well as hybrid forms that borrow liberally from UK subgenres, screwed n chopped cut up techniques and more. At the core, Declos treats production as worldbuilding, conjuring a vivid, cinematic world with a few masterful gestures. Marcal joins for the first time. The Brazilian artist’s sets are marked by a zen-like concentration and a rigor that truly sets him apart. His capacity for intricate, evolving rhythms and taut, tensile worldbuilding is truly masterful. His solo productions perfectly match this sense of seething restraint, with tracks like “Swindle” remaining buoyant despite their carefully-crafted heaviness. Cora returns. Hewing to intuition over genre, Cora captures the raw power of techno while stretching its boundaries. The Chengdu-born, Berlin-based artist brings a spiritual depth to her work, positioning herself within a lineage of exploratory artists whose work questions received wisdom and internalized limits.
Mexico City/LA-based queer institution Por Detroit returns to STUDIO for another takeover. Organizer Perfect Lovers resumes his iconic b2b with Bears in Space founder Victor Rodriguez. If there was ever a case to be made for “more than the sum of its parts,” it’s here. Both artists are standout performers in their own right, with significant solo careers. But as a duo, the energy is positively electric, and they harness the essential throbbing power of queer nightlife. Chris Cruse matches the mood. Another key player in LA’s warehouse scene, Cruse is the force behind Spotlight, one of the city’s most notorious and beloved parties. Now based in Berlin, his DJing fuses a sleek linearity with more occasional breakout moments of diva-driven catharsis. Kilopatrah Jones represents NYC. They have become one of the city’s defining artists, channeling pure soul and gloriously unbridled passion. Few artists working today represent house music quite like Kilopatrah Jones; you can feel the spirit of the genre pouring through every moment of her sets.
